Racecats!

This year Kate and Will were both able to do racecats. They trained after school and then had 3 races throughout the season. Here's the first race.

 

Will was up first and did great! He got 9th place. I'm so impressed especially since this is his first year doing racecats.

He got to run in the same race and his buddies,Jack and Liam. I'm positive that's why he joined racecats because his friends were staying after school for it and he was bored. So he joined a week later.

Next was Kate. She was right on the rabbits heels the entire time.

My friend Natalie came and took professional pictures of the race so we got some really cute ones.

Kate did awesome and took first place for the girls!

Here's some of the second race.

Will again got 9th place and Kate again got first! 

Last, but certainly not least, was the state finals. It landed on Halloween this year and both weren't connived they wanted to do it until the night before. I had to talk them into going (if only to see the Maynes after both our families had been quarantined). They were revved up and ready to go.

I wonder who thinks he's the boss around here?

This race was A LOT bigger.

 

Will raced against 308 kids and got 22nd place overall! He was 20th out of 197 boys. AMAZING!! He crashed right after.

 

Next it was Kate's turn.

She got some last minute encouragement from Erika who was running in the race after Kate, not the same one.

Kate raced against 286 kids (126 were girls)

I didn't get pictures of either of them running because I was taking video. But Kate did SO good and got 1st place girl!!  She was 7th overall with the boys. Woot woot!

She also collapsed at the end of the race.

After I scraped them off the field they were happy to pose for some pictures.

Kate even got a cool medal.

And Erika got 2nd place in her race!! I sure love these cute kids.
