Trav's birthday

This year Trav turned my favorite number! 44. It's going to be a good year!
It's starting out awfully strange though. His birthday was the official first day of the "quarantine."  The dang coronavirus that ended up cancelling every single thing that's a constant in our lives.....work, school, church, sports, parks, theaters, restaurants, crowds bigger than your immediate family.... you know, those kind of things. But I'll get to all that in another post.

But the good news is that he worked from home on his big day so we got to see him a lot more than we usually do! The kids are always dying to do presents.
Notice Will using the present (a back-scratcher) that he just gave Trav.

I hope we'll be able to keep our trip to go see the Dodgers this fall! If we do...Trav is ready!

Rach made a fabulous homemade card.
Jonah's always so good to "help"
These kids sure love their dad!

We took him out to lunch at his favorite restaurant: 5 guys. Another bonus of him working from home!

We had to do his favorite cake on his big day...that banana roll.

That night we had already made some plans and thankfully not a ton was closed yet so we went axe throwing. Trav's first time going and it was fun! We pretty much had the place to ourselves too.

Then we went out to dinner to Roosters. SO good! After this day pretty much everything shut down and we haven't been to a restaurant since! Glad we could celebrate my guy when we could.  Happy birthday Trav!

Fabulous February

Here's some fun things we did during February. This is the only picture I got of Kate's Valentine's box. It's really the only pictures I got of Valentine's day. Sometimes I'm super lame. But it was fun to go help with Kate's party at school! (and her soccer box was amazing too)

For Valentine's day (aside from our annual Mandarin take-out) Trav and I went snowshoeing! We haven't done that in years. Up to Snowbasin we went and it was a great outing.

The Junior High asked for some parent volunteers to come help with activities during lunchtime for kids to come do as an option. Jonah and I went twice (and it was SO crazy and chaotic and I thought a fight was going to break out at one point). I am glad that is over with. But when the junior high kids weren't in there, Jonah and I had a great time building with the giant blocks.
I kind of love the mornings when everyone is getting ready for school and eating breakfast and ready to start the day.
Jonah has been obsessed with bubbles lately so we've done a lot of those.

We also run to the park any time it is sunny...

I was helping Will with his work and was supposed to sign off when he completed an activity. I left the room for a minute and this is what I came back to find.....looks like my 1st grader can already forge my signature pretty well...
And this is how my boys eat blueberries....
Trav broke down and bought a suburban! We've  been talking about it for years because our family couldn't fit in the truck but we wanted something with 4-wheel drive. So far we're loving it! Lots of room and even a DVD player which the kids love. I think we'll get a lot of use out of this thing.
Here's one more of the 4 of us that were in the Joseph Smith musical production thing. (I'm pretty sure that's the technical name for it)
 Troublemaker....

Kate is double digits!

I can't believe it's true. My little Kate is now 10!! She is the best. I'm so lucky to be her mom so it's always a privilege to celebrate this cute girl. Yes, it was a school day so we got a few pictures before she headed off into the world.

Rach continues to amaze us with her balloon tying skills.
And...she got to open a present before she left.

The other presents came a little later....

She's fun to give presents to because she really does love everything.
Jonah testing out her new head massager...
Unfortunately that night was the dress rehearsal for our Joseph Smith production. The dress rehearsal was LONG (and kind of boring) but Kate was a trooper and didn't even complain. It was a late night of cake and ice cream!

I like the sparkly reflections from the candles...

Then that Saturday she had her friend party. We had a group of cute 4th graders that came to our house for lunch.

 Then presents...

 Being entertained by Jonah....

Then we went swimming at the Bountiful Rec center. Kate absolutely loved it and had a blast with all her buddies.

Gosh, I love that girl and am so glad we could celebrate her special day.
 Happy birthday Kate!!
