New Years 2020!

Happy New Year! We "kind of" rang in the new year with our favorite family, the Maynes. I say only kind of because Nate had to leave to work around 10:00 so they all left at that time. After they left it wasn't quite as exciting but we still had fun playing Ticket to Ride. Everything is always more fun with the Maynes.

Here's our first pictures of 2020...

 The first food eaten...

On Jan 2 we went to the planetarium which is always a lot of fun.

Will was wearing a green shirt.

Happy New Year! Hopefully 2020 will be a good one for us!

Schick party

Sadly, a water pipe broke at the cabin, so our plans to go to the cabin after Christmas were cancelled! We knew we needed to find something else to do that would be fun because we were all missing the cabin.
We had an entire day to play with the Schicks. First, we did a walking tour/scavenger hunt of Salt Lake City. It was pretty fun and we learned some interesting things.

Amazingly enough everyone was there this year!
Then we headed over to our church for lunch and playing around. It ended up being a lot of fun and we spent hours there.

We also had the white elephant gift exchange.

Later the adults had dinner at Orlando's (mmmm), the teenagers went to the nicklecade, and the littles stayed at my house for a movie night. It was fun for all and I'm so glad we were able to spend some time together.

December happenings

My cute friend Natalie does a fundraiser every year where you can get pictures with Santa. They always turn out really cute (and every year I think...next year I'm going to make them dress up.) Sometimes it's a miracle we even make it there!

No big deal...just Batman shopping at Smiths...

Our microwave died (RIP) so here's Trav and Josh installing the new one.
Our ward party this year was Feliz Navidad theme. It was so fun but so simple. Here's an action shot of Will whacking the pinata.
Will's cute basketball team. He loved it by the end of the season!

Will also was in his class production of Jack and the Beanstalk. And He was Jack!

Kate at her piano recital. She played Carol of the Bells like a boss!
And sometimes you just need a little Pete the Cat to round off the day.

12 Days of Christmas

This year during December somebody (I'm pretty sure I know who...but it's never been confirmed...) did the 12 days of Christmas for our family! It was SO much fun! Nobody has ever done this for us before and we loved it. But this wasn't just any 12 days....it was 12 days of games- which is perfect because we love games!

I didn't take pictures of all the of the games we did which I'm bummed about but I did get some good ones! Here's the game for '3 French Hens' (baseball with french bread bats, plastic eggs as the balls) Jonah was surprisingly good at this one!
This was '5 gold rings' trying to ring a gift bag with a good hula hoop.
 '6 geese a laying'

 With only 1 casualty...

 '7 Swans a swimming'

I did have to document that I was the grand champion of 'Swans'
'9 maids a-milking' This one was hard! We had to dust Milk Duds into milk containers.

'10 lords a Leaping' was to get the ping pong balls (with frog pictures on them) out of the tissue boxes by shaking your booty. It was awesome! I never did get that last ball out of there though!
All these games wore Jonah out!

It seriously was SO much fun! Thanks mystery family!!
