Schick Reunion 2018

This year for our Schick reunion we went to Lava Hot Springs. The main road to get into Lava is called Maughan Road, so of course we had to stop and take some pictures. (But they're on Trav's phone so I'll have to post those later.)

We stayed at this really cool cabin up in the mountains. Jonah found his new favorite cousin....Adam. He followed him around like a little puppy.

There was a giant connect 4 game that kept Jonah busy for a while.

 The view was gorgeous!

And the annual mandatory pictures happened (and it wasn't too painful for the son in laws)

Jonah did NOT want to be a part of the grandkid picture
 Until Adam held him....

 Gotta do the floss..

We played a game of flag football

Heather taught us a little family history

Then we got to squish strawberries to find the DNA

Kate and Will had the bubbliest bubble bath ever! (and my lens got foggy)

 Will's "throne"

We spent most of our time either hanging out at the cabin or playing at the water park. We didn't even make it to the hot pots! (or run the river like we originally planned.) But it was so fun to just hang out, laugh about Sharknado, play games and tighten those family bonds.

Folks, we have ourselves a teenager.

It's true.  The day we've all been dreading but knew would come eventually. I have a teenager! Luckily, Rachel is the most wonderful, amazing, awesome teenager ever so it really hasn't been bad. Actually....it's been great!

She didn't have 13 fingers to hold up so she had a little help.

And someone thought I was taking his picture for some weird reason. :)
We let her open a present in the morning.
How did Will know that's what she loves? Wait...you're not supposed to eat that with braces!
I just had to throw this one in of Will's jammies. Ha ha!
We spent the day swimming at the Jones' pool which was really nice. It was even better because the Maynes girls came with us (and Molly Nybo). Rach didn't want a party this year so that was a fun way to celebrate the day.

When dad finally got home she opened the rest of the presents.

 Ahhh...the awkward brother/sister hug.

What she DID want to do this year was go on a date with Trav and I. Just the 3 of us. It was SO much fun! First, we went to the Escape Key to a CSI escape room. I've gotta say...Rach did awesome in there! We were lucky enough to get a room to ourselves so it was just the 3 of us. We were solving clues like crazy and even disarmed the bomb with 8 minutes to spare!

Then we went to the Olive Garden for a yummy dinner. Rach got a fancy drink that had cotton candy on top.

We came home for some strawberry shortcake deliciousness.

It really was such a fun day and I'm SO happy that I have this amazingly wonderful teenager living in my house. Love ya, Rach!!
