February

This February we got to take a trip to St. George for Josh's soccer tournament. It was over presidents day weekend which is when everyone from the state of Utah goes to St. George for soccer tournaments. I found an airbnb in LaVerkin and we ended up loving it! It was WAY better in person than on-line and it was nice to be a little bit away from the crazy busy.

When we first got there we did a little hiking.

Trav got to do a little biking

There were peacocks roaming in our yard every day!

I don't know why this is so funny to me but this has happened TWICE now within the past few months. When we've gone out to eat and they ask for a name for the order and Trav says 'Travis' they spell it "Travice." So weird! He obviously doesn't think it's that funny.

Our cute house not only had peacocks in the backyard but a Foosball table
A gigantic bed for the boys to share

These pictures are all out of order. Here's some pictures from some more hiking we did up by a mine

Trav's orb of protection

It's kinda hard to see in the pictures but these were dinosaur footprints! They were really cool and we were the ONLY people there.

Here's the "toey" one as described by Josh

We usually go to the sand dunes but this time we tried Sand Hollow (I think that's what it's called). Way less people, more big rocks to climb on and it was closer to LaVerkin. It was fun!

The kids found some random items and tried to use them as sleds down the sand hill.

Back at the house we had a giant swing over the creek
Picnic on the deck

Plenty of places to sleep

We had a team dinner and all the boys got awards. They are a cute group of boys
We went to skip some rocks one evening

And of course we watched several soccer games.

Joshua with the Joshua tree

The kids can't resist hiking the slot
And we all love the rock hopping

We went to our favorite candy store then hit the park
(I feel like this is the kind of thing Will needs to get into....creating art from garbage. He brings home more 'treasures' than anyone I know)

Meanwhile, back in  La Verkin
Definitely the highlight was the old school pinball machine. We were all addicted and it was so fun!

Kate totally turfed it when we very first arrived in St. George so I had to get one with her and the sign

Team lunch at the park

This is right after Kate's big fall. Ha ha! She's okay

Jonah didn't mind the drive
It was a really fun and needed getaway. Back at home Rach had her solo/ensemble and did great!
This was Rach's beReal picture and I kind of loved this candid of Trav and I so I screenshoted it.
We celebrated Valentines day with Mandarin upstairs
and pizza downstairs
The kids got lots of Valentines treats at school

But also made some Lego pizza

Kate and Erika on the rec basketball team
Trouble
Playing at grandmas

We got some good snow this year so the kids made a big snowman!

Literally 2 minutes after I took the picture it broke!

Josh at his indoor track meet
I got to provide breakfast for the KJH basketball team
and here's some church ball shots

We had a Bob Ross paint night for mutual. Rach's was by FAR the best out of everyone there. She's a great artist

Also this February we got another teenager in the house!! Kate turned the big 1-3!!

For her friend party she wanted to do an escape room. It was a lot of fun and we barely made it out in the nick of time!

A treasure found at grandma's house, made by Grandpa Maughan

Cute girls
Kate got breakfast in bed

I pulled her out of school to take her to lunch at Old Grist Mill

That night she wanted to go to Chuck o Rama for dinner, then bowling.

We drove to 3 different bowling alleys and it was league night and so busy so there were no open lanes. It was sad. We went home did the rest of presents and had a game night which ended up being lots of fun!

Will was in the school musical Shrek. He was the Mad Hatter and had the best costume of all

I was in charge of doing the spotlight for Will's cast which is a pretty good job. Look at that spotlight work!

Will had lots of fans to come see him

Such a cute play and a cute group of kids

Back at home with Jonah and his Lego creations

I think Jonah took this one of me and it's good to remember who's behind the camera sometimes.

Jonah made this crab at school

And here we are with more Legos!

This is the castle fort Will and Jonah built in the basement. It was quite impressive.

They even slept in there a few nights.

February was fun but exhausting!!
