Q-life 6

As we slowly creeped along into May, here's some things that happened:

One of the worst things that could have possibly happened.... did (according to my kids) The tramp broke! The thing that they would all play on happily for hours every day and get physical exercise...was now gone. And not only that. Because everyone is stuck at home now and trying to find things to do, tramps were sold out everywhere! It really was devastating. I did find a place that could get one for us in 2 weeks. It was a LONG 2 weeks of everyone not having anything to do. But we survived.
Also, after much searching...Kate got a new bike!
 Will's usual at-home church apparel
Kate had crazy hair day for school.

One thing we got to pass the time was preying mantis eggs. We had them for a few weeks before they hatched and then we released them into the wild.

May the 4th be with you. Drinking Yoda Soda.
One last picture of this beautiful bracey smile...

Braces gone! Now we just get the beautiful smile!
For primary I put together some boredom bags to give to all the primary kids. I forgot to take a picture when I was assembling them all and this one is missing the bubbles and one of those grow animals....but the kids all seemed to enjoy getting them!
We took LOTS of walks to the Pond. Like, every day. It's a good thing it's pretty there!

 Will keeps losing his teeth.
Kate had a massive crash on her bike. Guess she didn't see that tree jump in front of her. The bruise would change every day. It was impressive.
Rach has been doing this app to help her do the splits. Some nights she'd convince everyone to try it with her. Ha ha!
 Mr. Block Builder, every day.
Will's final assignment for 1st grade....
 Visiting grandma and grandpa.
 Spider on the swing.

Playing at the field (also, grateful this is across the street from our house)

Trav's been busy working on our patio bench. He finally got it done and it looks great!!

Josh helping trim our giant tree.

Josh had to build a water rocket for one of his classes at school. They had fun with that one.
Slowly trudging along but doing fine!

Stinky Roodle Doo

Trav took all of the kids (except Rachel) on a camping trip. So Rach and I had a girls night and it was SO much fun. Texas Roadhouse take-out, 2 chick flicks in a row, treats, and we even cleaned the house and it stayed clean the whole time. It was nice.

But Trav and the other kids had a lot of fun too! Jonah told me to keep an eye on his favorite turtle, Stinky Roodle Doo (he named him). It's a good thing we kept an eye on him because he was having way too much fun with Will's polar bear, Snowball. I sent them a bunch of pictures of all the shenanigans they were up to.

Waiting for them to come home.....

They even slept with me that night...

 Watching Jonah's favorite show.

Trav said at first Jonah liked it and thought it was great but after a few pictures he started to get mad that they were all having fun without him. He said they were "naughty boys" and was ticked. Ha ha! That's what I get for trying to make him laugh!

Birthday bonanza

Will and I both had quarantine birthdays this year. I actually really loved it because that meant that everyone was home all day, I didn't have to run around to a million places, and everyone felt bad that I couldn't go do anything so everyone was extra thoughtful and made me feel so loved. It was great!! All day I was getting texts, calls and gifts from friends and it was amazing. But best of all, I got to spend it with my favorite people.

Trav and Rach slaved away at this delicious cake too. Mmm!

Then before I was even done celebrating my birthday, it was Will's birthday! I did feel bad for him for not being able to have a party or hang out with his buddies this year. It also fell on a Sunday so not as many people thought about it as I hoped they would. But I think he still had a great day. One of his highlights was I let him stay in jammies all day (even during church). He loved that.

But the best part of the day by far was the pinata. The Maynes stepped it up (as they always do) and made him a taco pinata! How cool is that?!?
We started with a pool noodle so everyone would get a chance to whack.

We didn't even make a dent in the thing so we had to pull out the bat!

Everyone got a chance with the bat before we finally struck gold!

Candy is Will's love language so having a whole pinata full was just what he needed.
Then Josh and Will whacked the tar out of that poor taco.

We got visited by grandma and grandpa.
Who gave Will a giant bag of gummy worms (which were gone within days)

And a giant bag of popcorn (which took a little longer)
He spent the day playing with presents and digging for fossils.

When it was time for cake, he didn't seem too impressed.

 Until we lit the candle.

I didn't get a good picture of the cake but there were M&M's on the inside which Will thought was pretty cool.

Happy birthday to us!!
