November

November started out strong with more fun from the fog machine.

Then we headed down to sunny St. George for Rachel's marching band competition! Last year, Kate and I were the only ones that ventured down but this year everyone wanted to go because we couldn't stop talking about how much fun it was! Of course we had to play while there....

We love the sand dunes!!

The kids all kept going in this slot canyon but I could not be talked into it. a little too tight for me!

Trav did it!

These kids were so stressed about me encouraging them to sluff school for a day to come, but they dutifully did all their homework so they weren't behind
The marching band competition was AMAZING!! I love seeing all the bands and hard work they put into it. It really is incredible.

Davis did AMAZING!!! They ended up getting 2nd place in both state and Bands of America!! This is a HUGE deal! It's the highest Davis has EVER scored and the best they have ever done in competition. I'm so glad Rach had the chance to be a part of this amazing show: Shattered.

Meanwhile back at the hotel....

We only got to hang with Rach for a few minutes but it's always good to see her.
My pictures are way out of order all over the place. Just know we did all this stuff and it was a lot of fun!

Our favorite little candy store: Judds.

With the cheesiest grilled cheese and yummiest soup and breadsticks!

We snuck down to say  hi to Rach before they announced the winners...

Back home we made some turkey legs...

Put up the lights with a little help

Had a little Young Women volleyball

I love that these sisters got to play together

We had a girls night at the Nutcracker! The night may or may not have ended with me spitting my drink out on Rachel's friends driveway because I was laughing so hard and couldn't hold it in any longer.
Jonah is the Lego master and always coming up with the coolest stuff.
Morning snuggles

The annual Thanksgiving fishing trip

This year we hosted Thanksgiving dinner at our house! It was the "off " year but we were able to have Grandma Maughan, Gary, Wendy, and Gary's daughter with us. It was so nice to have them!

We had a lot of leaves in our backyard....

I told the kids I wanted to get their passports "just in case" but these are the pictures they came up with for their photos...

Josh's of course, is perfect...

I eventually gave up and just had them get their pictures at the passport place. It was worth the extra money...

We had a fun young womens night tying blankets to donate to cancer patients

And I finally got to go out with my high school buddies when Sara came to town!! It was SO good to see them and I really wish we could do it more. I love these girls!
Seeing these two walking out of the school together just makes me happy.

We also had ward pie night and this group of teenagers just can't be beat.

Happy November!!
