20 Years!

I honestly can't believe Trav and I celebrated 20 years of marriage on the 18th! I've been married longer than I've been single now, which is such a crazy thought. We wanted to do something big so we hopped on a plane and took a weekend getaway to South Padre Island! I had never actually heard of this place before but it's the southern most tip of Texas, as close to Mexico as you can pretty much get. We took a super early flight.
Then switched to a cute little plane to take us even closer.
They even served adorable little pretzels.
And we made it! The whole island is pretty much a gorgeous beach.
And we had the place to ourselves!
We came across a super cool sandcastle.
And this was our ride for the weekend. We thought about renting a car, but why do that when you can rent a golf cart? It did get a little cold at times but it was fun!

We went to see the sea turtles one day.
And lucky for Trav, I'm used to taking a million pictures and he was my only subject so I got lots of him!

He loved it.

The beach really was so amazing!

We did a little souvenir shopping.
But my favorite part was a dolphin tour!! It was SO cool!

One of our Uber drivers told us we HAD to go to Whataburger because we can't say we've been to Texas until we do, so we tried it. There were definitely a lot of locals there but honestly I don't see what all the fuss it about. This is coming from the girl that thinks In n' out is gross and can't see why everyone's obsessed with that one too so take my word for what it's worth. But now we can say we've been to Texas!
We spent most of the time walking the beach and I loved it!

This is our hotel pool which was gorgeous but we never tried.
And the view from our balcony!
Now we get to see Trav's pictures.
Me trying to stay out of the wind.
I love palm trees!

Things start getting a little weird when the kids aren't around...

It was gorgeous and definitely warmer than home but it wasn't hot there either.

This is the last picture of me in my favorite hat. Right after this it blew right off and landed in the ocean!

Shield your eyes!!

It was such a great trip and getaway. We did have a guest mouse friend in our room the first night so we moved for the other nights. That was fun. We were only gone a few days but while we were there we kept getting distressing calls from Kate. She got sick and ended up rupturing her eardrum. Poor girl was in a lot of pain and I felt bad we weren't there to help her through it. But despite all that I'm SO glad we were able to celebrate our 20 years soaking in the sun! Happy Anni!!
