18 years on the 18th

Trav and I celebrated 18 years on January 18th. It fell on a Saturday so we were able to spend the entire day together. It was a great day. We started off by going to the wildlife preserve in west Layton. We've never been there before and it was really pretty. I want to go back when it's warmer and there's more birds.

Then we ditched the kids and went to iFly. Another first for us. It was a lot of fun!

 Gotta love the goggle lines...

Then we went to the Timbermine for dinner. This was another first for us and it was SO good. I loved it. The decor was really cool too. This bathtub was made into a table and filled with a million pez dispensers. I like random stuff like that.
When we got home the kids had decorated our room and Rach even tied a heart balloon for us with her new talent of tying balloons. Happy anniversary Hon!

J-J-J-January

One of Trav's goals for 2020 was to work on becoming a principal at work (Principal architect, not school principal). He went back to work from the break on January 2nd and guess what?  He did it! They officially made him a principal. One AMAZING goal already accomplished! This is a BIG deal. I'm so proud of him and what a good provider he is for our family. We went out and celebrated but we also had to congratulate him with a poster and balloon. Way to go Trav!!

Josh was in his school production of Dear, Edwina. He did a great job! (definitely my favorite up there)

 Here's his fan club.

Will coming home from his friends birthday party...
Josh and I had a date this month and tried axe throwing. It was fun! Josh beat me 4 out of 5 games. At least I won the last one. That one counts for more points, right?

 Warming up by the fire.
Jonah slept in his tent in his room for at least a month.
It got a little squishy while trying to read stories to him before bed.

All day, every day. He wants me to build complicated things, like these trains for him to play with. He'll destroy them and I have to start over. It's exhausting.
Josh and some buddies played truth or dare.
Josh also went to Top Golf for a friends birthday party. First time he's been there and his mom sent me some cute pictures. I love seeing him hanging out with the boys.

Rachel, Josh, Kate and I were in our stake musical production of Joseph Smith, the prophet. It turned out really good. Kate was in the children's choir with her friend Lexie. Lexie's mom got a few cute pictures of these cute pioneer girls.

I got a selfie of me and Josh. We were in the big choir. Rach was in the orchestra but I didn't get a picture of her.

I signed Will up for swimming lessons during February. This was my view watching him swim in the far right corner. He loved it and is a lot more brave in the water now. I think this summer will be a lot more fun for him swimming.

I mean....I'm not really sure what to say about this one.

There was a bald eagle that came to hang out by the ponds for like a week straight. Every morning when I took the kids to school he'd be there. It was so cool to see him perched on his branch like he owned the place. I stopped to take a picture with my little camera.
Then my friend Lindsay texted me these pictures she got of him. (She saw me attempting to take a picture) Her camera is way better and she's a much better photographer. Look at this guy!

There's something so snuggly about after bath Jonah.
And I'm not even sure why this picture exists. I don't know if I took a selfie or one of my kids took it.  But I thought I'd include it for posterity sake. This is what I look like at 37 years old. I'm still smiling.
