Josh is a teenager!

We now have 2 teenagers in the house! It's a good thing teenagers are awesome.

To celebrate Josh's big day we went swimming for the first time this year at the Jones' pool. We're so lucky they live so close and let us come swim sometimes. Unfortunately it was kind of a cold and windy day so it was freezing when you were out of the water, but it was still a lot of fun!

 Man, I love this boy!

Josh said he wanted sushi for his birthday (which is super gross) so Rach and I stayed up making my kind of sushi. He liked it!

 Present time!

Everyone likes this kind of sushi!

This cake may not look like much but it was SO good and full of chocolatey deliciousness. Mmmmm....

He invited a few friends over for some cake and night games. After not seeing his buddies in a while it was the perfect way to celebrate his big day.

I told them I wanted a picture and they all looked so formal.
I said "Come on! Act like you like each other!" and Josh said "Ummm, mom...the coronavirus." Oops. Glad my kids are keeping me in line.

 Happy birthday Josh!

Last day of school!

We 'kind of' celebrated the "Last day of school" of the weirdest school year we've had. The kids had already been home for a couple months but we were ready to celebrate no more on-line school, zoom meetings, and excessive screen time. Woot woot!

Kate finished 4th grade like a rock star.

 Jonah is still Jonah
Will finished 1st grade and is ready for new adventures...

Josh grew his hair out and it turned curly (?) but finished 7th grade with a bang and hair flip.

Rach rocked 9th grade this year and will be moving to High School next year!!

One fun thing we did was the "Maynes Quarantine Olympics" for our favorite buddies. We gave them little Olympic themed challenges every day for 13 days. My favorite part was the intro videos written and directed by Trav but performed by Rach and Josh. They were hilarious!
We did have a closing ceremonies to award medals and awards (and an excuse to actually get together in person)

We sure love this family and I hope they had as much fun with the Olympics as we did!
