Kate's 9th Birthday!

After over a month of a (several times) daily countdown from Kate...her birthday finally arrived! This is how she felt that morning....
She got her breakfast in bed (crepes) but came up at the tail end to finish it off with the rest of us. Everybody loves crepes!
Literally bouncing off the walls all day!
She did have to go to school that day but not before she posed for a few pictures.

Her line of presents was as long as Will!

Don't mind the big gut in front of her new raccoon puzzle... ha ha!

She got lots of great stuff this year!
One game she got was Googly Eyes, which is a fun game but I love the pictures we get from it even more.

Who knew I had such nerdy children?

We celebrated Kate's birthday for like a week. So on her birthday we did the breakfast in bed, presents, and while Rach and Josh were at mutual we went out to yogotogo.
The next day we went swimming at the Bountiful Rec center as a family...which I didn't take any pictures at.
Then on Saturday she had her friend party! This year she wanted to do cupcake wars.

Jonah likes this idea too...
Team 1: Morgan, Erika and Kate
Team 2: Lexie, Kate and Maya
Team 3: Josh, Rachel and Will
Let the games begin!
While the cupcakes were  cooking we did presents.

Jonah was wearing one of Will's shirts and it makes him look extra small. I had to throw one in with him.

Don't forget the dog-pile on the birthday girl!

They played a few rounds of Googly Eyes

Then it was time to decorate!

They were judged not only on how it looks but by how it tastes. And here's the final products:

They all turned out SO  yummy! I was impressed! Then we ate the cupcakes!

I had a get a picture of these cute girls

After the party Kate actually started feeling sick! Which was a total bummer. So on Sunday she ended up staying home from church. We were going to have grandparents over for Sunday birthday dinner but with Kate being sick (and a huge storm that night) we canceled and just celebrated (again) with our little family.

I left Rach in charge of making the cake. Kate wanted a giant cupcake and this is what she ended up with
I know it's not what she planned but I love that she did it for Kate. You can tell in these pictures Kate is not feeling well. Way too much partying!

Happy birthday Kate! We love you!!
