Happy Birthday Harry Potter!

So in honor of Harry Potter's birthday (yes THAT Harry Potter) My neighbor had a Harry Potter party.  It seriously was the cutest party ever!  So I took lots of pictures.  First of all, the invitation arrived by "owl."  And let me just say that there was jumping and screaming of excitement when it came.  Oh.... the kids were excited too.

When we arrived at the party we first had to go through
Platform 9 3/4.  Seriously?  How clever is that?

Everyone received a robe and a bag upon arrival.  And then we all had instruction in the Great Hall.

Then the sorting hat sorted all the kids into houses.  Rach and Josh were in Ravenclaw.  And yes, the hat actually did talk! (I'm thinking there was walkie talkies or something going on there)

 Nothing was overlooked .....
Then they had different classes to go to.  We first went to potions which was in the dungeon.  Does that book on the table look familiar at all?  Yep, they had the book of monsters that bites, as a decoration.
We made 2 different potions into some sort of goo that everyone got to take home.  And then we put this stuff on our fingers and when you snap it made smoke!  It was so cool!  See all those pumpkins in the background.  Yep, Harry Potter characters.
Then it was outside to play in Moaning Myrtle's bathtub.
And divination with Professor Trelaway (aka the Relief Society President)  She looked EXACTLY like her.  But first they had to find the golden snitch before getting their fortunes read.
The last class was wand making.  Everyone decorated their own wands.....

Then they got to go to Zonko's and Honeydukes for candy and prizes to take home.  They had cake and "butter beer" for everyone too.
This was so much fun!  There were probably 50 people there and the thing is....the girl that threw the party has one little baby who is probably 5 months old.  So it's not like he was benefiting from the party (although he did have the Harry Potter scar on his forehead).  She just did it because she loves Harry Potter.  It was so much fun!  Thanks for having a birthday Harry.  We love you.

Deer Valley

So our Schick reunion this year was in Deer Valley in a giant (I mean GIANT) condo for an entire week.  It was so much fun.  The kids had the best time playing with their cousins.  I'm not sure if Kate is laughing or crying in this picture...
 We loved swimming...

And some of us fill out our suits very nicely...
 We played so many games...
 Read millions of stories...
We went to Olympic Park one day.  Okay, have you been there before?  I hadn't. It was seriously so much fun!  It's hard to tell but in this picture we were watching the ski jumpers jump,do tricks and land in the swimming pool.  I had no idea we could watch that!
They had a really cool museum we got to go through with bobsleds....
 and luge sleds....
 They had a torch...

And someone really learned how to ski (and grew lots of dark hair....hmmmm)
I got to go on the zip line with my sister and dad. This is the steepest zip line in the world (and it was really fun)
 We relaxed A LOT!
We went on a hike at the ski resort.

Some give a little more sass than others....
We also got to go on the Heber Creeper.  Another thing that I had never done before.
This is all the grand-kids (that were there) with grandma and grandpa.
This one started out really perky...
Then a train robber gave her some chocolate....
She started contemplating where her life was headed....
And eventually passed out on the floor....
It was actually really cool to ride an old train like this.  We had a good time but it was WAY too long.  We went on the 2 hour ride (which was the short one).  One hour would have been good.  And if we go again I think we'll have to do it in the fall.  It was SOO hot, no AC, and you risk your own life if you stick a finger out the window before they come crashing down.
Sorry for the nudity, but everything in this condo was gigantic.  It was so funny to see this tiny little naked body in this gigantic shower.  I just had to throw it in.
Of course (to the son-in-laws dismay) we have to have a million family photos.  Here's most of the grandkids with grandparents...
 This is the whole crew.
 Our family photo.
This is my favorite one of all.  My cute boys....
 The muscle shot....
 And  the girls.....
It was such a fun week!  I could do that again.

Summertime means...

That you go 4-wheeling...
 Play with your best buddy....
 Mine for jewels....
 Ride your 2-wheeler.....

 Go to baseball games......
And try to catch a foul ball....
Even if you don't catch one, you didn't bring your mitt for nothing!
 You eat snow cones...
 And go to parades.....

You eat really big ribs....
And play in the smoke bombs....

You eat homemade ice cream while watching fireworks....

But most of all it means slip n' slide!

Happy summer!
