Race Cats

This fall my friend started a running club called Race Cats. She trained the kids to become better runners and they held a few races throughout the circuit. Josh was all in! Here they are getting ready for the first race...

The rest of us didn't mind hanging out at the park for a couple hours a week either.
Josh got 1st place!

They trained for a couple more weeks and had another race....
He beat his time by a full minute and got first place again!!
After their 2nd race, Jared Ward (who got 6th place in Rio Olympics last year...and is also in our ward) came and spoke to the kids. He is such an awesome guy and an inspiration. It was fun to hear his story. It was also funny because he's Will sunbeam teacher, so when they had a question section Will raised his hand and asked him if he's ever run 66 miles (the biggest number there is according to Will).

Part of their race they got to run down in the gully and Jami got a picture for me. Josh is killin' it.
Then after all that training there was a BIG race cats race in Sandy... I think for the state? Or several districts? There were a lot of kids there! Kate decided she wanted to run too even though she didn't train with the Race Cats.

She ended up getting 5th place! It was awesome!!
Then it was Josh's turn.

He ended up getting 15th place out of like 90 10 year old boys. And he even beat his best time! I'm super proud of both of them. And who knew Trav and I would have speedy kids? It was a lot of fun.

Especially when you get to cheer on these cute little runners.

When does spring training begin?
