Jonah's 5th birthday!!

I blinked and my baby turned 5! What?!? The good news is we got to celebrate for days for this sweet boy. We first had grandparents over for Sunday dinner.

He requested a train cake so this is what I came up with.
He liked it!

I didn't realize the train I put on the cake actually worked! That was a fun surprise.
We sure love our grandparents.

And now he's aged like 15 years...
Then on Monday we did our BIG celebration. This kid LOVES trains so we had a surprise in store. We didn't tell the kids where we were going but just put them in the car and started driving. When we pulled up to their favorite restaurant, Dairy Keen in Heber, they were all so excited! We haven't been here since my parents sold the cabin.
A few greasy burgers and ice cream later, we hopped back in the car and drove to the next surprise. A ride on the Heber Valley Railroad!! He was completely star struck!

It was so fun to see how excited he was.

I mean...look at that face. It was all worth it for this moment alone.

The train ride was SO much fun. There was singing, dancing in the aisles, chillaxing...

We took the evening train so it wasn't as hot and it was fun watching the sun get lower in the sky.
We needed some refueling mid-way through so we got some power rings.

It really was the perfect celebration and we had such a fun time!

The next day was his actual birthday! This kid lives like a king!

He wanted to go swimming at "Indiana Jones" pool. He loves to swim so swim we did!

Then it was home to play with Legos.
Later it was presents!

He's so cute...

He's so fun to give gifts to because he loves everything. But Kate hit the nail on the head with a play train from Heber Valley Railroad.
The bubble machine was also a hit.

Instead of making another cake we did a birthday doughnut.
I'm SO happy this kid is in my life. He's the best of the best! Happy birthday Jonah!!
