Tulip Festival

So last year we went to the tulip festival at Thanksgiving point. It was SO gorgeous and the flowers were amazing. We got the cutest pictures last year and had the best time. So this year my wonderful sister Aimee for my birthday said she'd take us back to the tulip festival. Yeah! We were so excited and decided to go this past Tuesday (the weatherman said it was going to be close to 80 degrees!) Well, the weatherman lied. We got up, dressed the kids in shorts and headed out to Thanksgiving point. I swear it ended up being in like the 50's and it was SO windy. We still had fun and it was still beautiful, but we didn't get any real good pictures. Here are the best of the best we got.

If only my hair wasn't so crazy this would actually be a cute one. I guess the whole "wind blown" look doesn't go so well for me.

I know, I know.....cowboy boots and shorts. You're probably all cringing but how can you say no to that face that just wants to wear his boots?

When did Rachel get to be so old?

Of course the highlight was feeding the fish. I kept trying to get Josh to stick his toes in, but for some reason he didn't want to. Maybe because the fish lips are bigger than his entire foot.

At least this girl thought it was fun, wind and all. (yes, she was in shorts and short sleeves too)

When the weather actually was nice a couple weeks ago Trav took the kids out to play in the stream for the first time. I was working (yeah I'm back to work now) but I hear it was a blast. We're going to have lots of fun this summer. Don't worry....the water is near freezing levels but the pain is worth it, right?

I took this picture of Kate and it reminded me of a picture we have of Rach when she was little. She's going to be a troublemaker for sure.

We do have some good news......Trav probably doesn't want me to say anything but I am anyway. He got made an Associate at work last week!!!! I'm so proud of him. We've been hoping it would happen but didn't hold our breath with this stinky economy and everything. But he is such a hard worker and such a wonderful man they couldn't have given it to a more deserving person. We're not exactly sure what it means yet, except he'll be getting a raise and come on.....an Associate at an architecture firm? That sounds really cool. Congrat honey! Love you tons!

  2. You have such cute kids. Tell Travis congrats! That is so cool! We have some bittersweet news too, we have our house under contract, but we're waiting to spread through the ward until things are more final, i.e. the inspection and things. i was thinking we should burn one of your stumps and have tinfoil dinners!
