Devils Playground

This being stuck at home thing was getting to us all so we knew we needed a roadtrip. We packed up in the new 'Burb and drove out to the middle of nowhere to Devils playground. One good thing about the 'burb is it has a dvd player. We have never owned a vehicle with one and I'm all about making kids look out the window and use their imaginations and all that, but I"m not going to lie.....it was nice.
They look so cute all zoned out.
When we finally got there and claimed a camping spot we put the kids to work to make us a firepit. All real campgrounds are closed so we just parked and camped. Yep...no bathrooms!

Kate got hurt after being out of the car for all of 1 minute (literally). Poor little accident prone cutie.
Here's where we ended up camping...

The rocks were really cool and my mountain goat kids were in heaven climbing everywhere.

One thing we did forget was chairs. Oops.
The Lodge looks pretty at sunset.
Dinner tasted amazing. I don't know if it was because we were all starving or if we're just really amazing campfire cooks...but 10/10 on this one.
Trav's log chair looks pretty comfy.

Jonah about fell asleep by the fire are curled up on a rock.
The next morning was pretty cold and windy so we struggled getting the fire started.

We had to use everyone as wind blockers.
The boys found a car bench while wandering around this morning and brought it back for us so we could sit!

One breakfast burrito fits right in with the logs.
 Jonah and his H.C.

After breakfast it was more exploring and climbing.

We named it "cow pie camp" I'll give you one guess why....(pretty sure the cows wintered here or something)

 The witch face rock...

Trav trying to make it into the family picture before the timer goes....ha ha!

That's what I call social distancing!

On the way home we pulled over for lunch and used a cot for a bench. It worked out great.
Then we stopped at spiral jetty. I don't think I've ever been there before and it was packed! All this social distancing have everyone really coming together in the great outdoors!

Gotta dip the toes in the Salt Lake.

It was a perfect little getaway to getaway from being stuck at home. Thanks devil for letting us come to your playground!
