The Redwoods-part 2

I have way too many pictures so I have to break this trip up. It's the prettiest place on the planet so I took a million pictures. The next morning we headed out to the lighthouse.

But we definitely took advantage to exploring the tide pools on the way there.

One crazy thing is at the lighthouse (where there were maybe 20 people total), Rach ran into her good friend Chandler! What a small world!

Kate's one goal was to find a starfish. She did it!

Jonah leading the waves like Mickey in Sorcerer's Apprentice...

Cute widdle crab...
Still leading the music....

This next part was probably the highlight for most of us...Fern Canyon. Such a fun hike!

We all couldn't stop taking pictures!

You feel like  a dinosaur is going to be around the next corner.

Even Mr. Whines-a-lot was having the time of his life!

We stopped at the beach nearby to play for a while. It was cold, the waves were SUPER sketchy. I kinda don't think we were supposed to swim there because it really was scary. I wouldn't let them go in over their ankles, and even then Kate got knocked down by a wave.

So then we spent time playing in the sand instead.

Rach built a wind barrier.

Josh had a complete hideout from the wind.
But it was still so pretty!

We finally wore him out...
But there's always time for some more pool.
Or spaceships...

This was mine and Trav's room
The next day we drove out to do some more hiking.
My new favorite picture...

We saw the bat signal!

Lunch stop

Anyone sick of sandwiches yet?

Maybe we can add slugs to the menu?
The clover just kept getting bigger and bigger!
This hike was awesome because it had the trail over the marsh. The kids pretty much ran the whole time. We could not keep up!

Kissy kissy

I remember last time we were here we waded across this river but it was way too high this time!

So they found some reeds to play as instruments instead.

I love this place!
