Summin' up Summer

Oh man! We had such a fun, crazy, busy summer. I was not quite ready for it to end, but we certainly did end with a bang! Here's the last few weeks in a nutshell:

So first off, Trav has been hauling tons and tons of rocks into our yard and is making an amazing rock wall. William is always happy to help.
This is the first layer of the wall. I'm so excited to see the progress! Every rock makes a difference.
Even though he doesn't look very excited to be hauling those suckers....he sure is getting buff!

The king likes to watch from his throne. I know....we're all amazed he's still alive too!
He just  moves from place to place sleeping and observing. Silly cat.
We had the Maynes over for some slip n' slide fun. We always have fun when we're with them.

After winning some free passes at the fair we went to Cherry Hill to do all the "dry stuff." I can't even tell you how many times we got lost in the jungle maze.

The ball pit is always a fav.

Rach was too big for the bumper boats (see her sulking in the background?) but the other kids had fun.

William just went around and around in circles the whole time. I thought he was going to get sick.
 They did some aeroball....
 Some rock-climbing....
Then we headed over to mini golf! Thankfully we did not keep score.

Trav's work party was to go to a Bees game. We got there early and got autographs from the whole team. Will even got a balloon snake.
Eatin' hot dogs at the ball park.
Right after dinner and right before the game was about to start, hurricane like winds and rain came rushing though so we all had to duck for cover.
They covered the diamond with a tarp and we waited and waited for the storm to pass. After waiting for 1 1/2 hours they cancelled the game. It was a total bummer!
The kids and I took a tour of Mrs. Cavanaugh's chocolate factory. Mmmmmm!

The best part was the free samples.
We also made it to the Davis county fair where Josh got to hold a snake.
We chatted with this totally awesome magician and he showed us some tricks. Now Rach is a little obsessed with magic.
We had to get some snow cones!

The spoons changed color when they got cold so that was definitely a highlight.
And apparently all of the chickens like to drink coke.

We also went to Cherry Hill to do all the wet stuff too. Josh got to try out his new goggles for the first time and loved them.

Kate got some too. Ha ha!

We had SO much fun. Everyone loved the dragon slide (including Will), Rach and Josh both liked Cardiac Canyon for the first time, the lazy river is always a fav, and when we were swimming in the pool William was getting so brave and jumping in all by himself (with his life jacket of course). He was so proud of himself and kept saying "Kids!! I did it by myself! Kids!!" He couldn't wait to tell everyone. It was super cute.
Kaysville opened up a new library and since that is mine and Rachel's haven we had to go check it out.

 It was great!

And Miss Kate started soccer!! Okay they all started soccer and I know I'll talk more about that later but this is Kate's first year!! I'm the coach of her team, the Grasshoppers. So cute!!
Josh had his first real pack meeting where he got an award so they painted his face. He loves scouts!

After the awards they shot off bottle rockets. It's a scout thing....
And despite how busy we were I loved lazy summer mornings where everyone just sat around and puzzled.

Our last official weekend of summer we took a trip up to the cabin. I'm going to have to make a different post for that because this is getting too long but as custom we stopped at the train for lunch. They always have great toys in their kids meals. This time they got beards.

Rach was SO embarrassed to wear it in public but she let me take a picture of her. She still looks cute, even in a beard.
