Kindergarten Kate

Spring is such a busy time of year. Sports start, (bye bye Saturdays) and there's a million end of year school things going on too. All of this is good...but it just gets a little crazy.

This is what crazy looks like at the ball park....

Josh's very first baseball game was at the "big field" at Barnes park. His game was supposed to start at 8:00pm which I thought was too late for 8 year olds to play...but what do I know? Then the game was delayed 30 minutes because the previous games were all running late. It was a school night and it didn't start until 8:30 and lasts an hour 15. We didn't get home until 10:00 that night.

But after the game Josh summed it up perfectly. He said, "Playing at that field is like your in a life or death championship game." It did seem like all the sudden, out of nowhere he was in the big leagues. He did LOVE playing "under the lights" and having a full moon didn't hurt either.

He doesn't get much action during these games because it's his first year of team pitch, so getting good pitches is a miracle. But he is always ready (and looks really good doing it)!
And my little Miss Kate also had her Kindergarten program! She was very prepared, but very nervous about performing in front of everyone. She's so stinkin' cute!

It helped that her 2 favorite buddies were right next to her (Morgan) and right behind her (Erika).

She did get into a meditative state for a minute before they started. I could totally tell she was reciting her speaking part. "The prettiest colors you will ever see....the prettiest colors you will ever see....the prettiest colors you will ever see...."
They had several songs with sign language.
I totally missed the photo opportunity of her speaking part!!! I did take a video and she nailed it! That last minute cram did some good!

The program was awesome! I'm pretty sure kindergarten programs are among some of the cutest things on the planet. Maybe watching her fan club congratulate her after could beat it in cuteness points.

Here's the 3 amigos: Erika, Morgan and Kate. What cute girls!

Will was just lounging on the side, sipping his water as we were going picture crazy.

I wanted to get one with her absolute BFF. Why are you smiling so weird, Kate?
 Come on Kate.....Smile!
Ahhh! That explains it. Evidence of oreo.

And here is the best kindergarten teacher in the world. We love you Mrs. Piper!!
I'm so proud of my little kindergartner and can't even think about next year how she'll be gone all day! The house will be SO much quieter (and that is including a newborn). Good job Kate. You're a rock-star!
