The 4th

I love the 4th. I love being part of such a great nation, so I always look forward to this holiday. On the 3rd we had a big bbq and watched the fireworks with the Maughans which is always fun but I totally didn't take my camera. But on the 4th we did what we always do, and that is celebrate in Centerville. We start off with the chuckwagon breakfast then head over to the parade. Here we are waiting for the parade to start.
Okay Josh, that's just a little bit creepy....
It was an early start after a late night so waiting was tough.

I like how Rach's head just appears out of nowhere.

 The parade is coming!!

Grandma and Grandpa Schick were there too. They were the ones that got us the awesome parade seats.

Then we headed over to the park to play! I think this was the favorite this year. Where you're strapped to a bungee cord and you try to run as far as you can. They did that one several times.

All this playing can wear a guy out!

Rach loves rock climbing so she jumps at any chance she can get.

At this point it was hot and we were tired so we went home for naps, jump on the tramp with the sprinkler and just to be lazy. It was glorious! We had a bbq that night, made the kids take baths, then did a few little fireworks. They especially like the poppers.

Will would get a popper from dad.....
 Run it across the driveway......
 Put it on the sidewalk.....
 Then pop it!
Then he would run all the way back and do it again....
 What a little silly.

 We got some confetti guns....
They were kind of hard to shoot.
 Here's the punk....I mean....wait.....
Time for smoke bombs! Okay, I lied...THIS was their favorite part.

They couldn't wait to see what color smoke would come.

Kate even got to practice her Ninja moves!

Yes, they recited the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag.

Once it got dark our neighbors put on a professional firework show, so we walked down the street to see it. It was amazing! There were actually like 5 shows going on at once that we could see from where we were sitting. We have the best neighborhood!

Happy 4th!
